MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCA 8, 1995
plan, or stick with the existing plan.
Fahey suggested that a chart be put together showing
which pieces are necessary to complete the existing
plan as well as possible alternatives.
Hartmann asked if the trail in Pioneer Park was
complete pointing out that there is a curb cut at the
north end of the park on DeSoto.
It was pointed out that the trail could come from under
the powerlines, down the DeSOto right-of-way and
connect to the Pioneer Park trail via that curb cut.
An alternative would be for the trail to come from
Edgerton, down Allen Avenue to DeSoto.
The Park & Rec Director suggested that the Commission
work with the Park Consultant to come up with some
alternatives which would then be brought back to the
Council.
Fahey stated that he would not rule out condemnation if
it is determined that that is necessary.
McNAMARA Sanders reported that the idea of developing a
PROPERTY neighborhood park on a portion of the McNamara property
off Jackson Street came about as part of discussions of
development of a triangular piece of property the City
owns adjacent to the industrial park. Fahey also asked if
there were any other small neighborhood parks on the
west side of the freeway other than Nadeau Wildlife
Park.
Sanders pointed out that the City has some property
near South Owasso Blvd. and the Water Works that has
been identified as a future neighborhood park.
