MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 21, 1995
was no indication that the meeting was limited to only
the Council and Planning Commission. A meeting notice
was also published in the City's legal newspaper.
Jim Vitale was concerned that there was not a cross-
section of residents present.
Fifield replied that he felt the consultant group could
reflect everyone's feelings. Fifield pointed out that
at the next town meeting people will have an
opportunity to review and comment on the work that
comes out of this workshop.
Schroeder reported that the entire process is one of
constant evaluation, reshaping and focusing down.
Schroeder noted that residents and business owners are
all part of the same community, and there are a lot of
common themes reflected in the guiding principles
because of this.
Scalze noted that most of the business owners present
are also residents; therefore, can represent both
interests.
Morelan pointed out the input the consultants have from
the first town meeting. Second stories - not sprawl;
7. A walkable environment;
8. Connections to the community;
9. City government is an active partner in the vision;
10. Additional Guiding Principles as defined by each
discussion group.
The individual groups completed their discussions and
Fifield thanked everyone present for the good input.
Fifield asked if there were any principles the groups
felt would not work.
