MINUTE5 <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 26, 1995 <br />The Code Officer reported that he and the City Planner <br />have met with Buck Blacktop and asked if site <br />improvements could be made along South Owasso this <br />fall. As a result of that meeting, Buck Blacktop <br />submitted a letter outlining his proposed timelines for <br />cleaning up the property. Another meeting will be held <br />with Buck to discuss concerns and comments that the <br />City Council might have. <br />The City Administrator reported that there are other <br />properties in the City with similar problems. The City <br />must be fair and consistent in the treatment of these <br />various property owners. However, there is a definite <br />need for results. <br />Scalze pointed out that this area has been a problem <br />for a long time, and some stronger actions are needed <br />to get the area cleaned up. However, she was willing <br />to work with the property owners to get the concerns <br />addressed. <br />The Code Officer suggested that he discuss the <br />possibility of clean up along South Owasso occurring <br />this fall with Buck Blacktop. This situation can be <br />monitored, and if nothing is happening by early fall, <br />additional correspondence and discussions will occur. <br />RICE STREET The City Administrator reminded the general public that <br />STUDY there will be a workshop on the Rice Street Study on <br />Monday, July 31st, at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall. A town <br />meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 15th, 7:00 <br />P.M., City Hall. <br />STRIPING OF The City Administrator reviewed the July 20th memo <br />LAKESHORE/ from the City Engineer recommending the striping of <br />OLD C/ Lakeshore/Old County Road C/Jackson street with two <br />JACKSON 11-foot driving lanes and two 5-foot shoulders. Double <br />yellow lines are also proposed to help the Sheriff's <br />Department enforce traffic speeds around the curves. <br />Residents of the area had requested we evaluate the <br />striping of the roadway in order to slow traffic. The <br />City Administrator recommended the striping as proposed <br />by the City Engineer suggesting that the area then be <br />evaluated over the winter. No parking could be posted <br />in the spring if it is determined to be warranted. <br />Morelan asked why the traffic lanes are proposed at 11 <br />feet. <br />12 <br />
