MINUT~S
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 23, 1995
Frattalone pointed out that Bill's Automotive received
approval of the Council.
Morelan asked if a wholesaler~s license issued to
Bill's Automotive allowed cars to be parked outdoors
for two to three days at a time.
Bill's Automotive replied that the majority of cars are
parked inside. There were two to three parked outside
overnight. Vehicles come into the site and are moved
out quickly, usually within two to three days.
Morelan asked if that is permitted.
The City Planner suggested that it could have been
allowed as part of a Conditional Use Permit approval.
If so, that activity would be grandfathered in.
Fahey suggested that enforcement activities at the site
be stepped up. The Code Officer should determine which
businesses are licensed and make sure outdoor storage
is cleaned up. Unlicensed businesses should get
licensed. If that is not an option, they should vacate
the property. Fahey asked for a report at the next
Council meeting.
Bill's Automotive stated that he was licensed in the
Spring of 1989. Bill's Automotive reported that he was
cleaning up the site and will get his outdoor storage
violations resolved.
The City Administrator suggested the next step would be
for the Code Officer and Frank Frattalone to work out
an action plan to complete the clean-up of the site.
Efforts have been going on for some time and a number
of issues have been resolved. It is a matter of
working through the process in a way that is fair to
all involved.
Fourre stated that he has been talking to City staff
since the end of March about the problems at this site.
Fourre stated he had hoped the problems would be
corrected by summer. It is now the end of summer and
he does not want the matter to extend into the winter.
Fourre pointed out that leaves will be falling from the
trees, which will open the site up more and make the
mess more visible.
Fahey suggested staff continue to pursue the matter on
a cooperative basis and address the issue of which
businesses are permitted and which are not.
