MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTII+IBER 7, 1995 <br />that this was initially a one-year position, but is <br />currently on its third year. The Administrator <br />recommended elimination of the position. <br />Council agreed. <br />The Administrator recommended elimination of the City's <br />membership with Metro East Development Partnership. <br />While the City has a moral obligation to be a member, <br />the direct benefits to Little Canada are questionable. <br />Council agreed to eliminate the membership. <br />The Administrator reported that the budget includes the <br />Administrative Assistant position at full time. An <br />option would be to retain the position at 900. The <br />Administrator suggested takinq this issue under <br />advisement in that he would not be comfortable <br />eliminatinq this option for 1996. <br />The Council agreed to take this option under advisement <br />for the time being. <br />Another option is reducing the City's contribution to <br />the Fire Relief Association from $18,000 to $14,872. <br />This would allow for an increase in pension benefit <br />levels from $2,050 to $2,100. <br />Fahey pointed out that there is a 3-year calculation <br />when a decrease in fundinq impacts the funding level. <br />Morelan stated to allow for growth in the fund, the <br />City must contribute more than just the required <br />contribution. <br />Fahey suggested that the Council take additional time <br />to analyze this option before acting on it. <br />The Administrator suggested that the $1,000 budget <br />amount under community service for senior citizens <br />could be decreased to $500 since there have not been <br />specific uses for this money. <br />Council agreed. <br />Fahey pointed out that the City's recreation fees are <br />lower than other cities. Fahey suggested that perhaps <br />these fees should be looked at qiven the previous <br />recommendation to increase license fees. <br />The Administrator pointed out that recreation fees are <br />8 <br />
