MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTE[~SBIIt 13, 1995
Commission.
Schroeder agreed that the City can handle the
architectural review process using the Planning
Commission and the City Planner.
Fahey suggested that the language of this section be
cleaned up.
"Work with Roseville to meet common development
objectives" was reviewed. The City Administrator
reported that staff has been working with Roseville to
establish a better dialog. There are definite
advantages to both cities in linking pedestrian
systems, for example.
Scalze asked if Roseville should be sent a copy of the
Development Guide.
The City Administrator reported that he has informed
Roseville that we would send them a copy once the Guide
is closer to final form.
Fahey agreed that there were common issues with the
redevelopment of Rice Street that should be discussed
with Roseville. However, felt the matter was similar
to goal-setting. Unless measurements can be taken, it
is difficult to determine if anything has been
accomplished.
Scalze suggested that the Development Guide be sent to
Roseville. Roseville can review the Guide and provide
input if they choose. Scalze reported that she heard
the Roseville City Manager is excited about the
redevelopment of Rice Street and the work Little Canada
is doing since Rice Street is where most of eastern
Roseville residents shop. Roseville's community
development director may have input he would like to
provide to the process.
Fahey stated that Roseville's vision is probably set,
and he did not want to debate Little Canada's vision
with Roseville.
Pedersen felt that Little Canada can tell Roseville
that this is our goal and that we are willing to work
with them. The beginning of a dialogue may mean a
phone call from the City Administrator, our plan being
sent to them, and a request for information on what
they are doing.
13
