Fahey felt the consultants produced a better product. The resident pointed out that the Rice Street/Little Canada Road area has been going down hill despite the upper economic movement of the City. The resident felt there was a need to determine why this is so. Mr. Guerin pointed out the long moratorium that the City has had on development in that area. Council reviewed the initial action steps outlined in the Ehlers & Associates memo dated September 8th and took action on each of steps as follows: Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 95-9-205 - DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO WORK WITH PERSONS INTERESTED IN UNDERTAKING PROJECTS IN THE RICE STREET/LITTLE CANADA ROAD STUDY AREA The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 95-9-206 - AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO NEGOTIATE WITH TIIE DEVELOPER OF THE MARKET PLACE SHOPPING CENTER The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
