AT CITY HALL; <br />*ESTABLISHING TRUST/ESCROW ACCOUNT FOR FIRE OR <br />EXPLOSION LOSS PROCEEDS~ <br />*APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AT OLD <br />FIRE STATION SITE; <br />*APPROVING THREE-MONTH EXTENSION OF ORGANIZED <br />COLLECTION CONTRACTS; <br />*APPROVING THE VOUCHERS. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey, Morelan, Scalze. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />GOAL-SETTING Council discussed the possibility of setting a Council/ <br />SESSION Staff goal-setting session. Fahey indicated that he <br />believed work was underway on the City's main goal, <br />that is, redevelopment. <br />Scalze suggested if the consensus is to schedule a <br />goal-setting session, that it be scheduled for after <br />the first of the year given the numerous workshops the <br />Council is conducting on the Rice Street/Little Canada <br />Road Development Guide as well as the 1996 Budget. <br />Fahey stated that unless the last goal-setting session <br />resulted in measurable results, he would be opposed to <br />having another. Fahey felt that the Council and Staff <br />were already addressing key issues, and a goal-setting <br />session was not necessary to identify those issues. <br />The City Administrator felt there was need for a <br />session in light of completion of the community survey. <br />The Administrator suggested that the Council and Staff <br />should take that information and make sure things are <br />being planned for. The Administrator sugqested that <br />the session does not have to be facilitated. <br />LaValle suggested that if a session is held, it be done <br />at City Hall and a Saturday. <br />Fahey pointed out that key issues identified in the <br />survey are already being addressed. These issues <br />include crime prevention, which additional dollars are <br />being budgeted for, as well as property taxes and <br />redevelopment issues.
