MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBII2 13, 1995 <br />to be convinced that a session would be productive and <br />effective. Fahey pointed out all the work the City is <br />doing on the Rice Street/Little Canada Road <br />redevelopment effort, noting that this work is not <br />over. <br />Morelan suggested that it would be helpful to get <br />together to prioritize goals. Morelan also suggested <br />that there may be things identified in the survey which <br />the Council should take a look at. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to revisit this <br />issue at the end of the year. <br />CLOSED LaValle suggested that the Council hold a closed <br />SESSION session following the meeting to discuss the Mover's <br />Warehouse litigation given that he had a couple of <br />questions on the matter. <br />The City Attorney pointed out that oral arguments will <br />be heard on the appeal on October 20th. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 95-9-210 - CALLING FOR A CLOSED SESSION <br />FOLLOWING THIS EVENING~S MEETING TO DISCUSS THE MOVER~S <br />WAREI-IOUSE LITIGATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />1996 BUDGET The City Administrator recommended that the proposed <br />1996 Budget could be decreased by $500 under the City <br />Engineer category, $1,500 under Mayor & City Council <br />Miscellaneous, and $1,000 under Storm 5ewer Repair & <br />Maintenance. The Administrator pointed out that this <br />would add another $3,000 in reductions to the $8,090 <br />made the other evening at the initial budget workshop. <br />The Administrator pointed out that these reductions <br />bring the net levy increase to 3.63%. It would take an <br />additional $6,000 in cuts to reduce that amount by <br />another half percent. <br />The Administrator stated that he had no doubt that the <br />City could reduce the net levy increase to 3.0%. <br />However, that is dependent on the Council taking some <br />actions.
