MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 27, 1995
Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Council next reviewed the Acquisition Guidelines for
the Rice Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment area.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 95-9-217 - APPROVING THE ACQUISITION
GUIDELINES AS AMENDED BY THE COUNCIL AT THEIR SEPTEMBER
27, 1995 WORKSHOP MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey, Morelan, Scalze.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Morelan asked if the price quoted by the City Planner
for development of architectural design quidelines was
a not-to-exceed amount.
The Planner replied that it was.
Fahey noted that development of architectural standards
was consistent with Item 11 in the Implementation
strategies portion of the Redevelopment Guide. These
standards will strengthen the image of the commercial
center of the community through some common
architectural themes. Fahey stated that he assumed the
consultant group supported the development of the
architectural design guidelines.
Fifield replied that they did.
Pedersen asked if it would result in a more consistent
product to have the consultant group do the work.
The City Planner pointed out that the consultant group
used the Comp Plan update work as a baseline, and the
same can apply since the Development Guide would serve
as a baseline for the architectural design guidelines.
Michael Schroeder, Hoisington Koegler Group, reported
that they would be available to work with the City
Planner, if needed.
Fahey asked if the work would be completed by the end
of the year.
The Planner replied that it would be.
2
