MINi7TES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 11, 1995 ACCOUNT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and AGENDA moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 95-10-231 - APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: *APPROVING A SIX-MONTH EXTENSION OF THE TIMA LOT SPLIT APPROVAL; *ACCEPTING EASEMENTS FOR THE FRATTALONE SEWER EXTENSION FROM PETERSON MAINTENANCE AND FROM LEVITZ FURNITURE; *APPROVING A TEMPORARY ON-SALE NON-INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION'S HALLOWEEN DANCE TO BE HELD ON OCTOBER 28, 1995; *CANCELING THE FIRE MARSHAL CONTRACT WITH GREG SCHMIT AS OUTLINED IN HIS REQUEST DATED OCTOBER 5, 1995, AND APPOINTING DUANE WILLIAMS AS FIRE MARSHAL EFFECTIVE OCTOBER l, 1995; *APPROVING THE VOUCHERS. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey, Scalze, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. TAXI CAB Fahey pointed out that the Council discussed the issue LICENSES of taxi cab licensing at the budget workshop immediately preceding this meeting. Fahey asked the City Attorney if the City has any exposure because of issuance of these licenses. The City currently requires proof of insurance, but does no background checks on the taxi drivers. The City Attorney stated that there would be no exposure to the City as a taxi licensing body. Fahey asked if it would be wise or necessary for the City to take an extra step and require a 7-day waiting period before issuance of the license in order for the City to do background checks on the drivers.
