MINi7TES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 11, 1995 <br />ACCOUNT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE MEMORANDUM OF <br />UNDERSTANDING ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />AGENDA moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 95-10-231 - APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: <br />*APPROVING A SIX-MONTH EXTENSION OF THE TIMA LOT SPLIT <br />APPROVAL; <br />*ACCEPTING EASEMENTS FOR THE FRATTALONE SEWER EXTENSION <br />FROM PETERSON MAINTENANCE AND FROM LEVITZ FURNITURE; <br />*APPROVING A TEMPORARY ON-SALE NON-INTOXICATING MALT <br />LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE CANADA RECREATION <br />ASSOCIATION'S HALLOWEEN DANCE TO BE HELD ON OCTOBER <br />28, 1995; <br />*CANCELING THE FIRE MARSHAL CONTRACT WITH GREG SCHMIT <br />AS OUTLINED IN HIS REQUEST DATED OCTOBER 5, 1995, <br />AND APPOINTING DUANE WILLIAMS AS FIRE MARSHAL <br />EFFECTIVE OCTOBER l, 1995; <br />*APPROVING THE VOUCHERS. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey, Scalze, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />TAXI CAB Fahey pointed out that the Council discussed the issue <br />LICENSES of taxi cab licensing at the budget workshop <br />immediately preceding this meeting. Fahey asked the <br />City Attorney if the City has any exposure because of <br />issuance of these licenses. The City currently <br />requires proof of insurance, but does no background <br />checks on the taxi drivers. <br />The City Attorney stated that there would be no <br />exposure to the City as a taxi licensing body. <br />Fahey asked if it would be wise or necessary for the <br />City to take an extra step and require a 7-day waiting <br />period before issuance of the license in order for the <br />City to do background checks on the drivers. <br />Morelan asked if the City can deny issuance of the <br />8 <br />
