MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 25, 1995
SALE OF
TRAPEZOID-
SHAPED
PARCEL IN
JACKSON
HEIGHTS ARF.11
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Morelan, the public
hearing was closed.
Scalze pointed out the previous approval of a larqer
addition which provided better screening for the
residential area to the east. Scalze asked if there
would be additional trailer parking at the site as a
result of that addition.
Hagman stated that Slumberland decided on a smaller
addition.
The City Planner replied that when the original site
plan was proposed, Slumberland wanted to add trailer
parking. However, additional trailer parkinq is not a
part of this proposal, although additional automobile
parking is proposed. The Planner noted that
Slumberland would have to apply for a separate
Conditional Use Permit requesting additional trailer
parking. The Planner pointed out that he is
recommending that a berm and landscaping be required on
the east side of the site. A 2 to 3 foot high berm is
recommended with plantings a minimum of 6 feet in
height.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 95-10-250 - APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO
PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT AS REQUESTED BY SLUMBERLAND
ALLOWING CONSTRUCTSON OF AN OVER 40,000 SQUARE FOOT
WAREHOUSE ADDITION TO THE EAST SIDE OF THE EXISTING
SLUMBERLAND FACILITY SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS OUTLINED IN HIS
REPORT DATED OCTOBER 6, 1995
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze.
Nays (O). The Administrator reported that the
majority of property owners in the area indicated that
they supported the sale of the trapezoid parcel.
