However, this was a good start and the City can see what happens with it. The City Administrator pointed out that the contract proposed is for three years with a three-year renewal option. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 95-11-279 - APPROVING RENEWAL OF THE REFUSE/RECYCLING CONTRACT AS PROPOSED BY CITY STAFF, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE TI-IE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. SEPIIOR Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and CITIZEN moved its adoption: DEFERMENT OF RESOLUTION NO. 95-11-280 - APPROVING THE APPLICATION ASSESSMENTS FOR SENIOR CITIZEN DEFERMENT OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR MARIE M. WILDES, 2688 LAKESHORE AVENUE The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Scalze, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. PAY REQUEST The City Attorney reviewed the City Engineer's letter ~3 - VALLEY dated November 20, 1995 calculating that payment in PAVING the amount of $201,978.74 was due Valley Paving, less liquidated damages and plus interest on payment. The Attorney recommended that the Council take action on Valley Paving's pay request pursuant to Section 9.4 of the General Conditions of the contract that the City has with Valley Paving. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 95-11-281 - APPROVING PAYMENT TO VALLEY PAVING IN THE AMOUNT OF $201,978.74 FOR PAY REQUEST #3 AS CALCULATED BY THE CITY ENGINEER IN HIS REPORT DATED 19
