MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECII~ffiER 6, 1995 <br />Morelan asked about the indication that residents of <br />co-operative senior housing are more ambulatory. <br />Fifield report the senior housing would not be assisted <br />living, but a cooperative means of providing owner- <br />occupied housing. <br />The City Administrator stated that the expected market <br />would be younger than that of Presbyterian Homes. The <br />average age at The Mayfield is in the 80's, while <br />seniors in the cooperative housing may average early <br />70's. Additional parking would be needed for this type <br />of senior housinq. <br />Fahey stated that he would like to see the whole area <br />out to Little Canada Road redeveloped as one project. <br />Fahey felt that there should be a clear understanding <br />with the developer on this issue. <br />At this point in the meeting, 7:30 P.M., the Council <br />adjourned temporarily into their special meeting. The <br />workshop was reconvened at 7:45 P.M. <br />GUERIN Fahey pointed out that the City is working on the <br />PROPERTY Market Place project as well as the prospect for <br />development of the Rutzick property. Therefore, any <br />redevelopment efforts directed toward the Guerin <br />property should be put on hold at this time. <br />Scalze suggested that the Planning Commission may want <br />to comment on the renovation of the Market Place <br />Shopping Center. <br />The City Administrator reported that Mr. Grootwassink <br />and Mr. Hotzler will attend the December 12th workshop <br />meeting of the Planning Commission to present their <br />rendering. <br />Scalze asked if anything would be ready by December <br />12th on the Rutzick proposal. <br />The Administrator replied that he was not sure. The <br />City Planner has forwarded a copy of the draft <br />architectural quidelines to the developers. <br />ACQUISITION/ The City Attorney reported that State Statute 117.51 <br />RELOCATION and after address the issue of acquisition/ <br />ISSUES relocation benefits. The Attorney reported that if <br />someone comes to the City and indicated their intent to <br />sell their property or put their property on the market <br />5 <br />
