MINtPl'ES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 24, 1996
massage therapy given the annual requirements for
criminal background checks and inspections given the
nature of the business.
Morelan felt that a$100 annual license fee would be
adequate and would cover the City's costs in processing
the application.
LaValle pointed out that while Graczyk's operation was
a legitimate one, the City must worry about the next
applicant that might not be legitimate. In that
situation, the $100 license fee may not be adequate to
cover the City's costs.
Morelan suggested if that happens, the City can raise
the license fee.
Scalze asked if $100 would be adequate to cover the
City's costs.
The Administrator suggested in a case where there is
significant follow-up required, $100 would not be
enough to cover costs. The Administrator pointed out
that once the City has a track record established, it
will be better able to determine the level of license
fee.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following ordinance and moved
its adoption:
ORDINANCE N0. 427 - AMENDING SECTION 2201.010 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, RELATING
TO SAUNAS
The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan.
Nays (0).
