The Administrator <br />pointed out that there was significant discussion of <br />this during the drafting of the architectural <br />guidelines. <br />Morelan asked if there was time to put the plan through <br />the review process to determine where the plan meets <br />the guidelines and where it does not. <br />Scalze stated that she has no idea how far $200,000 <br />will qo in doing exterior improvements. Scalze <br />suggested that if there is enough money, she would like <br />to see the exterior brick rather than wood. <br />Hotzler replied that a completely brick exterior would <br />be expensive and the $200,000 would not cover the cost. <br />Grootwassink pointed out that currently the exterior is <br />not being maintained. Once the improvements are made, <br />the building's exterior will be attractive. <br />Hotzler agreed that their plans will make a significant <br />difference in the exterior of the buildinq. <br />Pedersen asked if the exterior above the window line <br />was wood. <br />Grootwassink replied that there will be metal above the <br />window line. <br />Pedersen asked about lightinq. <br />Grootwassink reported that they have a quote of $19,000 <br />for six exterior decorative lights. <br />Morelan asked if the City Planner had reviewed the <br />drawing and whether or not he could report on its <br />compliance with the architectural standards. <br />The Planner replied that he has not reviewed the plan. <br />The Administrator reported that there are definite <br />deviations from the architectural guidelines. The <br />Administrator suggested that if the Council wants the <br />plan reviewed by the architectural review board, the <br />first question to be answered is whether or not the <br />8 <br />
