MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 149 2025 <br />and submitted an application for the stewardship grant program. He stated that RWMWD has <br />approved the grant agreement in the amount of $100,000 for the water quality improvements included <br />in the project. He asked the Council to accept the grant and enter into the grant agreement with <br />RWMWD. <br />Kwapick commended staff for looking for grant opportunities, noting that this is a huge benefit for the <br />city and its budget. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIOI , 00GRANT <br />ADOPTINGAND RESOLUTIONA <br />UTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A <br />GRANTAGREEMENT WITH RAMSEY-WASHINGTON METRO WATERSHED <br />DISTRICT R THE STEWARDSHIP <br />..I ,I GRANT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. <br />Ayes (5). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AGREEMENT WITH RAMSEY COUNTY FOR THE CRITICAL CORRIDORS <br />DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT FOR RICE STREET SIDEWALK \ <br />PROJECT <br />The Community Development Director provided information on the grant the city applied for last year <br />in an attempt to close the sidewalk gap along Rice Street. He stated that the current proposal, which <br />awarded these funds, would go from south of Demont Avenue to Royal Credit Union, which will <br />connect to the county's sidewalk on County Road C. He stated that with this funding and additional <br />funding the city has received, the city would only pay $16,000. He stated that this will provide better <br />access and walkability for residents in that area. <br />Miller commented that he is always grateful for the work staff does to reduce costs to the city. Mayor <br />Fischer recognized the long, arduous task of completing the sidewalk connections along Rice Street. <br />Kwapick introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. <br />Ayes (5). Resolution declared adopted. <br />FIRST AMENDMENT TO RAMSEY COUNTY CRITICAL CORRIDORS INITIATIVE <br />GRANT FOR RICE STREET BANNERS PROJECT <br />The Acting City Administrator presented the first -amendment to the grant agreement which would <br />extend the timeframe the city has to complete the project. <br />on <br />
