He stated that the webpage would allow residents to submit comments, <br />questions, and concerns that will be reviewed by the committee at its next meeting and confirmed that <br />there would be a public open house as well. <br />Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2025-4-65 — ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY BUILDING <br />TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Malone. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PROMOTION OF PUBLIC WORKS APPRENTICE TO PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE 1 <br />The City Clerk explained that in February, the Council reviewed changes to the public works <br />department. She stated that currently, public works has been down by two staff members for a period <br />of time. She provided additional information on the public works apprenticeship program and stated <br />that it is recommended to promote Jim Mayer from apprentice to maintenance worker 1, effective May <br />14, 2025. <br />Miller commented that it is great to see internal promotions, especially seeing someone progress <br />through the apprenticeship program. <br />Mayor Fischer asked if the apprentice service time is counted towards years of service. The City Clerk <br />commented that, as an apprentice, he is a regular city employee. She stated that the city has <br />transitioned from apprentice to another public works position previously, and noted that other <br />apprentices have organically left on their own to accept public works positions outside of the city. She <br />provided an update on upcoming retirements in that department and anticipated hirings, noting that <br />they will revisit the public works' needs during the budget discussions. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2025-4-66 — APPROVING THE PROMOTION OF JIMMAYER <br />FROM PUBLIC WORKS APPRENTICE TO MAINTENANCE WORKER 1, EFFECTIVE <br />MAY 14, 2025 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />APPROVE PURCHASE OF A VEHICLE FOR BUILDING INSPECTIONS <br />The City Clerk stated that a new Building Official will be starting in a few weeks with the upcoming <br />retirement of the current Building Official. She stated that the existing Building Official had preferred <br />to use his personal vehicle, but the preference of staff is for a city vehicle to be used for insurance and <br />liability purposes. She recognized that this purchase was not planned in the budget and explained that <br />they are proposing to purchase a used vehicle because of the length of time is takes to purchase off the <br />3 <br />
