In this way the City could continue its support of these organizations. The Council would also like staff to investigate various funding options for both the Historical Society addition and the old fire hall renovation. Pedersen asked what the feasibility study would cost and how the City would fund it. The City Administrator suggested that the cost may be $5,000 or less and that the cost could come from the project budget for the old fire station in our Capital Improvement Funds. Morelan felt this option addressed all the concerns on the table. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 96-2-37 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO OBTAIN A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A 2,000 SQUARE FOOT ADDITION ONTO CITY HALL FOR PURPOSES OF RELOCATING THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY, AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO PURSUE FUNDING OPTIONS, INCLUDING FEDERAL AND STATE GRANTS, TC ASSIST IN THE COST OF THE PROJECT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reported that the next step with the old fire station project would be to authorize preparation of schematic design and preparation of cost estimates. This information would be reviewed by the City Council before the project goes out for bid. LaValle suqgested that LCRA be informed in writing that they would be responsible for any necessary upgrades of the kitchen facility at the old fire hall.
