MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 24, 1996 <br />Fahey suggested that before the next meeting of the lo% <br />Committee, the Council review funding policies. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-4-103 - APPROVING THE FUNDING OF <br />PIONEER PARK BENCHES AND PICNIC TABLES FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. <br />TAX The City Administrator reported that the City received <br />FORFEITED notice from the County that the property located at <br />PROPERTIES- 34 East Little Canada Road and the property located at <br />LITTLE 2555 Ruth Street have gone tax forfeit. It is the <br />CANADA ROAD recommendation of staff that the City acquire the <br />& RUTH STREET property at 34 East Little Canada Road for public open <br />space and that the Park & Recreation Commission review <br />the Ruth Street property for potential park usage. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-4-104 - ADOPTING THE RECOMMENDATION <br />OF CITY STAFF TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY AT 34 EAST LITTLE <br />CANADA ROAD FOR PUBLIC OPEN SPACE, AND REQUESTING THAT <br />THE PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION COMMENT ON THE <br />POTENTIAL USAGE OF 2555 RUTH STREET FOR PARK PURPOSES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />STREETSCAPE Scalze reported that a committee met to interview <br />PROPOSALS two firms which submitted streetscape proposals for the <br />Rice Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment area. <br />Scalze felt that the two firms were pretty close. <br />These firms were asked if the scope of the project <br />could be modified in order to bring the price down. <br />The firm of Sanders, Wacker, Wehrman, Bergly, Inc. that <br />they could reduce their price. <br />Morelan reported that the firm of Hoisington Koegler <br />Group,;Inc. indicated that once the scope of the <br />project is further defined, it may be possible to bring <br />19 <br />
