MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 26, 1996 <br />CUP FOR The Mayor opened the Public Hearing to consider <br />LIMITED approval of a Conditional Use Permit allowing <br />AUTO RENTAL operation of a Limited Automobile Rental Agency at <br />AGENCY - 80 Minnesota Avenue by Alliance Car Rental. Both <br />80 MINNESOTA the City Planner and the Planning Commission <br />AVENUE - recommended approval. <br />AI,LIANCE <br />There was no one present from the general public <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution <br />declared adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-6-148 - APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT ALLOWING OPERATION OF A LIMITED AUTOMOBILE <br />RENTAL AGENCY AT 80 MINNESOTA AVENUE BY ALLIANCE CAR <br />RENTAL BASED ON TI-IE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION AND CITY PLANNER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SPECIAL HOME The Mayor opened the public hearing to consider the <br />OCCUPATION - application submitted by Dr. Karen Ryan for a Special <br />2570 MCMENEMY Home Occupation Permit to allow a part-time clerical <br />ROAD - RYAN employee at 2570 McMenemy Road. Both the Planning <br />Commission and City Planner have recommended approval <br />of this request. <br />There was no one present from the general public <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />Morelan suggested that perhaps the CUP should contain a <br />restriction on the number of employees allowed. The <br />Planner noted that the application is for one employee. <br />Additional employees would require another CUP process. <br />Morelan suggested only one employee at a time should be <br />allowed on the premises. <br />Pedersen did not agree, and felt such a restriction <br />would push Dr. Ryan into non-compliance if she needed <br />to hire another clerical worker for even very limited <br />10 <br />
