MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JUNE 26, 1996 CUP FOR The Mayor opened the Public Hearing to consider LIMITED approval of a Conditional Use Permit allowing AUTO RENTAL operation of a Limited Automobile Rental Agency at AGENCY - 80 Minnesota Avenue by Alliance Car Rental. Both 80 MINNESOTA the City Planner and the Planning Commission AVENUE - recommended approval. AI,LIANCE There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on this matter. Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was closed. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution declared adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 96-6-148 - APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT ALLOWING OPERATION OF A LIMITED AUTOMOBILE RENTAL AGENCY AT 80 MINNESOTA AVENUE BY ALLIANCE CAR RENTAL BASED ON TI-IE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND CITY PLANNER The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. SPECIAL HOME The Mayor opened the public hearing to consider the OCCUPATION - application submitted by Dr. Karen Ryan for a Special 2570 MCMENEMY Home Occupation Permit to allow a part-time clerical ROAD - RYAN employee at 2570 McMenemy Road. Both the Planning Commission and City Planner have recommended approval of this request. There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on this matter. Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was closed. Morelan suggested that perhaps the CUP should contain a restriction on the number of employees allowed. The Planner noted that the application is for one employee. Additional employees would require another CUP process. Morelan suggested only one employee at a time should be allowed on the premises. Pedersen did not agree, and felt such a restriction would push Dr. Ryan into non-compliance if she needed to hire another clerical worker for even very limited 10
