MINU'PES CITY COUNCIL JULY 10, 1996 ACCEPT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Morelan. Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. Mayor Fahey accepted with regrets the resignation of Colleen Doolittle from the Parks & Recreation Commission. Doolittle is moving out of the City. On behalf of the Council, Fahey thanked Doolittle for her service to the City. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 96-7-166 - AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO ADVERTISE THE VACANCY ON THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (4) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CAO Fahey announced that the Ramsey County SherifE's GRADUATION Department wi11 be graduating its first class of Community Affairs Officers on Tuesday, July 16, 1996. The graduation ceremony will be held at Incarnation Lutheran Church at 4880 Hodgson Road in North Oaks. The public is invited to attend. Morelan felt this is a great program and stated it would be nice to get some Little Canada residents involved. RECESS At this point in the meeting, 6:47 P.M., Council took a short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 7:05 P.M. CITY CENTER Fahey reported that he and members of the City Council IDENTIFICATION just returned from outside the buildinq where they were SIGN looking at three potential locations for a City Center identification sign. Morelan indicated that there is merit to all three locations. Morelan felt the sign fit more into the category of monument sign than identification sign. As a result, Option 1 appears to be the best location, and the sign should be single-sided. Fahey pointed out that under Option 1, the sign would 7
