MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1996 <br />APPOINTMENT The Council reviewed the applications submitted for <br />TO PARKS & appointment to the vacancy on the Parks & Recreation <br />RECREATION Commission. A ballot was taken, and the results were <br />COMMI5SION as follows: Fahey voted for pouglas F. Warring, Scalze <br />voted for Roger W. Christensen, LaValle voted for Roger <br />W. Christensen, Morelan voted for Muriel Bianchi, and <br />Pedersen voted for Tom Pfenning. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-8-192 - APPOINTING ROGER W. <br />CHRISTENSEN TO THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION FOR A <br />TERM TO EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 31, 1997 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CODE Scalze suggested the City Administrator try to <br />ENFORCEMENT fill the receptionist position on a temporary basis for <br />a couple of more months in order to allow Mary Granley <br />to continue code enforcement for that period of time. <br />The Ci1:y Administrator reported that the rational was <br />for code enforcement to be conducted over the summer <br />months. There may be timing and productivity problems <br />with getting someone to fill the position for only a <br />couple,of months, given the need to train the <br />individual. However, there may be part-time staff <br />which could work additional hours in order to allow <br />continuation of code enforcement during the fall. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 96-8-193 - AUTAORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO ADDRESS TIIE RECEPTIONIST POSITION IN <br />ORDER TO ALLOW FOR THE CONTINUATION OF CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />ACTIVITIES FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0).
