MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTII'4BER 11, 1996 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-9-222 - INSTRUCTING PUBLIC WORKS TO <br />POST THE WEST SIDE OF SYLVAN STREET BETWEEN ROUND LAKE <br />TRAIL AND COUNTY ROAD C AS NO OVERNIGHT PARKING BETWEEN <br />THE HOURS OF MIDNIGHT AND 6 A.M. WHILE RETAINING THE <br />PARKING BAN ON THE EAST SIDE OF TI-IE STREET <br />The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey indicated that the Code Enforcement Officer <br />and/or the Sheriff's Department should begin issuing <br />citations to the owners of the duplex on East Rose <br />Place for any code violations. Fahey also suggested <br />that staff contact surrounding cities to determine <br />their ordinance regulations for the parking of campers. <br />ASSESSMENT The City Attorney reported that the assessment appeals <br />APPEALS filed by Waite, Marzitelli, and McDonough have been <br />tried. The ruling on the waite appeal has been issued, <br />and the court upheld the City's assessment. The <br />question now is whether or not Mr. Waite will appeal <br />the ruling. No decision has been issued on the other <br />two appeals. <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:15 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:25 P.M. <br />TAX The Council reviewed the recommendation of the Parks & <br />FORFEITED Recreation Commission to release for public sale the <br />PROPERTIES tax forfeited properties on Park/Lake Streets and on <br />Ruth Street. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-9-223 - INSTRUCTING STAFF TO INFORM <br />RAMSEY COUNTY TO PROCEED WITH THE PUBLIC AUCTION OF TAX <br />FORFEITED PROPERTIES AT PARK/LAKE STREETS AND ON RUTH <br />STREET AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PARKS & RECREATION <br />COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />16 <br />
