MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPT'Ef~fBER 25, 1996 <br />The Planner replied that the information submitted <br />previously by the Tilleskjor's was being used. It <br />appears the property value of the house to be moved is <br />consistent with those in the neighborhood. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-9-232 - APPROVING THE CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT REQUESTED BY WANDA AND KERWIN TILLESKJOR TO MOVE <br />A HOUSE ONTO AN EXISTING LOT AT APPROXIMATELY 2725 <br />LAKESI-IORE AVENUE SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS <br />REPORT DATED SEPTEMBER 9, 1996 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey, Morelan, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />VARIANCE FOR Fahey reported the applicant has requested the <br />REAR YARD public hearing to consider a variance for rear yard <br />SETBACK - setback be continued. The applicant has found <br />BELLAND AUTO the adjacent property is for sale, and may be <br />REPAIR considering the possible purchase of this site. If <br />Belland Auto Repair purchases the adjacent property, <br />they may add onto their building in a different <br />location. <br />Scalze indicated she would like to see the dialogue <br />which took place when Belland Auto Repair building was <br />first constructed and whether or not any variances have <br />already been approved for the building. Scalze <br />questioned whether the Council should approve a <br />variance which continues a non-conformity. <br />Fahey asked if the Planner's recommendation or approval <br />of the variance was based on the fact that the Belland <br />property was a lot of record before the current Code <br />was adopted. <br />The Planner replied that that was correct, and pointed <br />out the shape of the property makes it difficult to <br />use. <br />Scalze stated she believes the Belland property was <br />platted as an outlot. The City then allowed a building <br />to be constructed on an outlot. <br />The Planner reported that the Belland's are having <br />their survey information updated, and have found the <br />10 <br />
