MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 9, 1996 <br />The Engineer again pointed out that the street would be <br />lowered to get right-of-way to drain onto the street. <br />Pedersen asked if the homes along Arcade would be able <br />to remove the drainage ditches in front of their homes. <br />The Engineer suggested that issue could be looked at as <br />the project is underway. <br />Pedersen asked about the width difference in the two <br />segments of the Arcade Street project. <br />The Engineer reported that a narrower section is <br />proposed from County Road D to LaBore Road because of <br />lower traffic volumes on that section of roadway. <br />Morelan reported that he would abstain from voting on <br />this matter given he owns property abutting two of the <br />proposed improvements. <br />Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 96-10-249 - ACCEPTING THE FEASIBILITY <br />REPORTS FOR 1997 IMPROVEMENTS, AND SCHEDULING <br />NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS TO DISCUSS THESE IMPROVEMENTS <br />WITH AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays ( 0 ) . <br />Abstentions (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Engineer reported that on October 29th <br />neighborhood meetings for Australian Avenue would be <br />held at 6:30 P.M., and Bluwood Avenue would be held at <br />7:45 P.M. On October 30th neighborhood meetings for <br />East Brooks Avenue would be held at 6:30 P.M., and <br />Arcade Street at 7:30 P.M. Once these meetings are <br />held, staff will come back with a recommendation to the <br />City Council. <br />APPRAISALS- The Council reviewed the appraisal results for Rice <br />RICE STR./ Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment properties. <br />LITTLE The City Administrator reported that review appraisals <br />CANADA have been completed, and the recommendation is in <br />ROAD favor of the initial appraisals as presented. The <br />PROPERTIES properties involved are The Venetian Inn, Ultimate <br />Golf, Sherman Investment property, Cardinal Property, <br />Guerin Property.
