MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 23, 1996 Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 96-10-270 - APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO THE SOLID WASTE CONTRACT AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THIS CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (3) Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. SPOONER The Council reviewed the bids received for construction PARK of a new picnic shelter in Spooner Park. It was noted PICNIC that all bids exceed project cost estimates, and City SHELTER staff has recommended the bids be rejected. The Administrator pointed out that staff will review the City's options, which include rebidding the project in the spring or constructing the shelter through a modified construction management approach. Staff will make a recommendation on how to proceed with the project at a later date. Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 96-10-271 - REJECTING THE BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE SPOONER PARK PICNIC SHELTER BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF CITY STAFF AS WELL AS THE PROJECT ARCHITECT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (3) Pedersen, Scalze, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. PIONEER The City Administrator recommended that the PARK existing Spooner Park picnic shelter not be moved PICNIC to Pioneer Park until such time as a decision is SHELTER made on how to proceed to construct the Spooner Park picnic shelter. Council agreed.
