MINUTES
CZTY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 13~ 1996
ORDINANCE N0. 448 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 902
AND 918, AND DELETING SECTION 913.020.M OF THE LITTLE
CANADA CITY CODE, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY
ESTABLISHING PROVISIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF COMMERCIAL
RECREATION USES IN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK DISTRICT AS
DISCUSSED AND AMENDED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (4) LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen.
Nays (O). Ordinance declared adopted.
Morelan asked if the Council felt restrictions should
be placed on the hours of operation for the Grand Slam
business.
Steve Marine, Di-Med Corporation, reported that most of
the year the Grand Slam operation would be open until
10 P.M. Aowever, during the Spring, it may be open
until 11 P.M. There was also the indication by Todd
Johnson of Grand Slam at a previous meeting that they
may occasionally remain open all night for private
parties.
Fahey felt there was no need to restrict hours of
operation until it becomes evident there is the need to
do so. Morelan stated that he was comfortable with
that as long as the City had the ability to impose
restrictions at a later date.
Morelan noted the concerns raised by Metaltronics
regarding traffic.
Steve Marine reported that there has been some
vandalism at the west side of the Metaltronics
building, which is about one block from the Di-Med
building. Marine reported that he has not had similar
problems at his building. The Grand Slam operation
will be located at the north end of the building, which
is closest to South Owasso Blvd. Therefore, there will
be no traffic goinq further than the Di-Med building as
a result of the Grand Slam business locating in the
building.
Morelan also pointed out
parking problems, and th
has indicated there will
for the Di-Med building.
concern raised regarding
property.
the concern raised about
a fact that the City Planner
be adequate on-site parking
Morelan asked about the
traffic crossing private
Marine reported that he purchased a tax-forfeited piece
4
