The City Administrator reported that when construction was underway on Maple Lane, there was a concern with construction traffic through the industrial park. Since that construction has been completed, the Administrator stated that he was not aware of any additional trespassing concerns in the area. Morelan pointed out that after business hours, the industrial park is very desolate, and felt that additional activity in the area during the evening will help to resolve vandalism problems rather than add to them. Morelan pointed out the concerns raised by D& T Trucking in their letter regarding parking and that the proposed land use should be restricted to a retail or commercial area. Morelan stated that he did not necessarily disagree, but felt the use could not be accommodated in a retail or commercial area. There was also concern raised with regard to security and the video games Grand Slam is proposing. Morelan pointed out that if there is a problem, the Council can call Grand Slam in and impose conditions on their permit. The City Attorney agreed if a nuisance was being created, the Council could impose conditions on the permit. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 96-11-278 - APPROVING THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUESTED BY DI-MED CORPORATION LOCATED AT 2956 YORKTON BLVD. ALLOWING GRAND SLAM TO OPERATE INDOOR BATTING CAGES AND BASKETBALL COURTS AT TAE DI- MED FACILITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (4) LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
