MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 22~ 1997
Roseville. Therefore, it is unreasonable to expect
Little Canada to allow a Roseville organization to
operate here. Fahey pointed out that there are a
number of organizations in town which would qualify to
operate a pull-tab site, and suggested that Anderson
contact these organizations.
Anderson pointed out the decrease in police calls at
the Saxon since he took over the business. Anderson
indicated that if there has been some thievery at the
Saxon, it was not his doing, and he would be the last
person who would want that situation to occur.
Anderson felt that Little Canada was not very receptive
to its businesses. Anderson thanked the Council for
their time, and indicated that he would try to do
business as best he can.
DEVELOPER Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
DEPOSIT moved its adoption:
FEES
RESOLUTION N0. 97-1-19 - APPROVING THE INCREASE IN
DEVELOPER DEPOSIT FEES AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF IN
THEIR LETTER DATED JANUARY 14, 1997
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, Morelan.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
ACCESSORY Council reviewed staff's memo dated January 16, 1997
SHEDS regarding building permits, setback requirements, and
placement for sheds up to 120 square feet in size.
Morelan pointed out that the only issue to be resolve
is whether or not to allow for the placement of these
sheds within the side yard. Morelan felt that ideally
sheds should be placed in the rear yard, but felt it
really depended on where in the side yard a shed was
placed.
Pedersen expressed concern with the placement of sheds
in the side yard adjacent to the house. Pedersen felt
this was a problem from an aesthetic standpoint.
Morelan agreed that lining a shed up with a garage did
not look the greatest, but felt it was acceptable in
some cases.
Fahey felt placement in the side yard was fine, and
pointed out that in some instances placing a shed in
the middle of a back yard may be objectionable.
6
