MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCFI 12, 1997 <br />discussin~ Wall Companies with Yhe City Manager in White Bear Lake, he <br />indicated that as their project progressed in White Bear Lake there were <br />issues which arose requiring modifications be made. The Administrator <br />pointed out that in the interview with Wall Companies, its representatives <br />stressed the reality of the redevelopment of the Rice Street/Little Canada <br />Road area. <br />The Administrator indicated that the purpose of the Council workshop <br />meeting would be to review the development submittals made by each <br />company. The Council could then decide whether a final presentation by <br />each company was necessary. Resolution declaretl adopted. <br />The City Administrator su~~ested that he arran~e for economic <br />development staff from some other cities as well as from Ehlers & <br />Associates to assist in the review of the submittals. Council agreed. <br />PROVINCESThe City Administrator reported that Dominium would like the Council <br />TAX to call a workshop meeting to discuss the issues of affordable housing <br />CREDITS mix ai~d tax credits which are parY of The Provinces financing. It has been <br />suggested that the workshop be scheduled for Wednesday, March 26°i. <br />Fahey indicated he cou]d not be present at the workshop. Fahey felt the <br />City should expect an agreement from Dominiun that the affordable <br />housin~ mix will be 40% as was represented to the City at the time action <br />was requested on the bonds. Fahey stated that he would not support a <br />departure from that percentage, indicatiug he would not support <br />converting apartment complexes in the City to 100% afPordable housin~. <br />Fahey pointed out the large numbers of apartment ui~its and the problems <br />the City has experienced at some of these complexes. Fahey indicated his <br />vote would be to direct staff not to sign any documents increasing the <br />affordable housing mix at The Provinces, and taking steps necessaiy to <br />
