STAFF
REPORT
TO:Mayor Fischer and Members of City Council
FROM:Heidi Heller, City Clerk/HR Manager
DATE:May 14, 2025
RE:Approve Hire of New Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist
ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED:
Approve the hire of Evan Glunz as Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist.
BACKGROUND:
Colleen Schoenecker, the part-time utility billing clerk resigned on April 28, 2025. Staff
reviewed the job description and decided to combine this part-time position with the yet-to-be-
filled part-time administrative support position in hopes of making the job more attractive as a
full-time position and to have someone working every day to help with front office coverage.
Staff posted the Utility Billing/Administrative Support Specialist position and received 89
applications. Five applicants were interviewed by the Finance Director, Accountant, Customer
Service Specialist and City Clerk/HR Manager. Evan Glunz was chosen as the finalist and has
accepted our offer. He has a degree in finance and has been working for the City of La Crosse,
Wisconsin as an Accounting Specialist doing utility billing. He started there as an intern and
was then offered a full-time position after he graduated from college.
Evan’s positive attitude and customer service skills will be a great fit for Little Canada staff and
residents. He is excited to come to Little Canada and will be starting on May 27, 2025.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Council approve the hire of Evan Glunz as Utility Billing/Administrative
Support Specialist beginning on May 27, 2025.
