MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY 14, 1997 the Council discussed securing LCRA's equipment, and using the Fire DeplrtmenYs tables and chairs during the pilot program. Scalze felt that tlie rental fee for the space should cover costs, but should be affordable. Scalze suggested it may be feasible to rent space in half- day time slots with a couple of hours between for cleaning. Scalze also felt that fhe users should clean the facility, thus eliminating the need for a staff person to clean the facility. The City Administrator felt a staff person was necessary to clean restrooms and floors. Therefore, it would not be possible to eliminate cleaning costs. Tl~e rental fee was discussed in detail, and the consensus of the Council was to lease the (ower level of the Old Fire Hall Por $75 per six-hour time period. Anything over six hours would require an ldditional fee. It was also agreed that a$100 damage deposit would be collected. The majority ofthe Council felt leasing the facility for half-day time slots would present a problem in getting the facility cleaned between events. There are also issues of coordination of key return, inspection of the facility, etc. which must be considered. Again, it was pointed out that this is a pilot program that will be re-evah~ated 1t the end of the year. Fahey asl<ed the Council's position regarding the use of alcohol on the premises. The Council indicated that additional information was needed indicating how otl~er cities handle this issue. Until that information is provided and discussed, the consensus was to not allow the use of alcohol in coujunetion with the leasin~ of the space. Staff was instructed to reporC on this issue to the Council. Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RF,.S'07.
