MINUT~S <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 28, 1997 <br />Morelan pointed out that the ordinance addresses Yhe valuation issue, and <br />appelrs that this provision ofthe ordinance has been met. <br />Sc11ze asked if there was anyone from the generll public wishing to <br />comment on Yhis matter. <br />Joel I-Iielkema, 130 Yorlcton Ridge, reported that he will live across the <br />street from the house and his concern was that the house did not <br />completely fit into the neighborhood. <br />Tl~ere was no one else from the ~eneral public wisl~in~ to address the <br />Cotiiucil on tl~is matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Morel~n aslzed if the City Planner was comf'ortable with the proposal as <br />has been made, and as]<ed iftlte City should require a landscaping plan <br />fi~om the applicant. <br />The City P(anner poinCed out that the Planning Commission's discussion <br />did not focus oi~ landscaping and grlding, buY more the exterior <br />appearance and valuatiai of the liouse. This review led the P(anning <br />Commissio~~ to believe that the house is compatible with the <br />neighborhood. The Planner 11so pointed out tl~at Yhe improvements which <br />Mr. Pajari has ii~diclted he will mal<e, will increase the v11ue of the house. <br />Iv[r.
