MINUT~S <br />CITX COUNCIL <br />JULY 23, 1997 <br />Pedersen agreed with the recommendation indicating that he has felt the <br />appointment process should have more structure. <br />Morelan asked if consideration was given to having a member of the <br />Council on the interview committee. Johnson replied that that wasn't <br />discussed, but she felt it was a good idea. <br />It was the feeling of the Council that the recommendation of the <br />Commission be adopted at this time. The process can be reviewed at a <br />later date to see if it is workin~ or needs any modifications. The Council <br />also felt that the process can be applied to the Planning Commission if it <br />works for the Parks & Recreation Commission. Morelan suggested, <br />however, that before that is done, the Council should obtain the input of <br />the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.SOL DTION NO. 97-7-172 - ADOPTING THE PARKS & <br />RECREATION COMMIS.SION APPOINTMENT PROCED URE.S AS <br />RECOMMENDED 73Y THE COMMI.SSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />METROPOLITAN The City Planner reported that he has been meeting with the <br />REGIONAL Metropolitan Council to discuss the City's Comprehensive Plan update. <br />BLUEPRINT The Planner reported that the Legislature has charged the Met Council <br />with ensuring that all municipalities update their Comp Plans by 1998 <br />11 <br />
