MINUT~S CITX COUNCIL JULY 23, 1997 Pedersen agreed with the recommendation indicating that he has felt the appointment process should have more structure. Morelan asked if consideration was given to having a member of the Council on the interview committee. Johnson replied that that wasn't discussed, but she felt it was a good idea. It was the feeling of the Council that the recommendation of the Commission be adopted at this time. The process can be reviewed at a later date to see if it is workin~ or needs any modifications. The Council also felt that the process can be applied to the Planning Commission if it works for the Parks & Recreation Commission. Morelan suggested, however, that before that is done, the Council should obtain the input of the Planning Commission. METROPOLITAN The City Planner reported that he has been meeting with the REGIONAL Metropolitan Council to discuss the City's Comprehensive Plan update. BLUEPRINT The Planner reported that the Legislature has charged the Met Council with ensuring that all municipalities update their Comp Plans by 1998 11
