MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JULY 23, 1997 Herkenhoff stated that in looking at her neighbor's property, she believes only a small poition of the garage will be visible from Mr. Moser's pool area. The ~ara~e will be setback 10 feet from the property lines in order to allow for maintenance around it. Morelan pointed out the reference in the Planner's report about proportion, scale, and roofline. Morelan asked if the Council could deny the CiJP based on the size of the structure. The City Planner replied that that reference relates to the house and the property. The Planner indicated that he felt the size of the garage was appropriate due to the large, oversized lot versus a standard 10,000 square foot lot. There was no one else from the general public present wishing to comment on this matter. Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Morelan, the public hearing was closed. Scalze indicated that she would not support approval of the CUP. Scalze felt that since the Herkenhoff property is so large, there should be another location for the ~arage which would have less of an impact on the adjacent property owner. Scalze stated that she did not know of another second ~;ara~e approved by the Council which is closer to the neighbor's house than it is to the applicant's house. Ayes (3) LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen. Nays (1) Scalze. Resolution declared adopted.
