MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 289 2025 <br />Kwapick introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2025-5-84 - CERTIFYING ANY UNPAID BALANCE FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT COSTS TO THE DRIVE WAYAT 3075 SPRUCE STREET (PID <br />0 62 922210 041) TO THE PAYABLE 2026 PROPERTY TAXES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Gutierrez. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT <br />The Acting City Administrator stated that the Council is asked to approve the City Administrator <br />employment contract between Little Canada and Bryce Shearen. She provided background <br />information on the City Administrator search process and stated that Mr. Shearen has verbally <br />accepted the offer of employment. She provided additional information on Mr. Shearen and his career <br />experience. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that there were four finalists who would have done an amazing job in this <br />community. He stated that each candidate brought forth their own unique characteristics, and <br />ultimately, it was a unanimous vote that Mr. Shearen is the right person for the job. He was pleased to <br />have Mr. Shearen come back to Little Canada to lead the operation. <br />Miller agreed that there were four great candidates, and there was an open conversation between the <br />Council and staff. He agrees that this will be a great decision to have Mr. Shearen come back. <br />Gutierrez commented that about 12.5 hours were spent on the interview process over the two days and <br />noted that it was a very thoughtful process. <br />Malone stated that it was great to see 41 applicants for the position who wanted to be a part of the <br />Little Canada team. She was excited that they landed on a homegrown person. <br />Kwapick stated that this is a great place to live and work, which is evident by the great candidates they <br />had. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2025-5-85 —APPROVING THE CITYADMINISTRA TOR <br />EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH BRYCE SHEAREN, WITH THE WAGE SCALE <br />AS RECOMMENDED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Bryce Shearen thanked the Council, noting that it was a fantastic process, and the other candidates <br />were great people as well. He was very excited to return to his home, noting that he has continued to <br />be involved in projects over the past 16 months and was looking forward to working with staff and the <br />residents. He promised to serve with dedication, integrity, and transparency. <br />3 <br />
