MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 1997 <br />PUBLIC <br />HEARING - <br />VACATION <br />OF PORTION <br />OF VIKING <br />DRIVE <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearin~ was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI, UTION NO. 97-9-20R - VACATINC I,OTS A AND 73, NADEA U <br />ADDITIONAb' RECOMMENDED I3Y THE CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that in discussing the matter with Ramsey <br />County, the County is recommending that the property be reconveyed <br />back to the County. The City would then purchase the property from the <br />County and could convey it to Mr. Frattalone. The Administrator <br />su~gested that if the Council was comfortable with this procedure, he <br />would initiate the proceedings. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Scalze opened the public hearing to consider the vacation of a portion <br />of the Viking Drive road ri~ht-of-way as requested by Thomas 7un~mann, <br />the owner of the adjacent property. The City Administrator reported that <br />should the City vacate this right-of-way, the County would return the <br />right-of-way to the property from which it originated. The Administrator <br />reported that the City has made similar vacations along Viking Drive. <br />The vacation would result in additional property being put on the tax rolls. <br />The Administrator reported that staff is recommending approva] of the <br />2 <br />
