MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 22,1997
Improvement Fund pointing out that it may be that some other projects
would have to be given up to proceed with this one.
Fahey stated that he wanted to challenge the staffto bring the project in as
low as possible. However, it completion of the project would require an
additional $30,000, for example, Fahey stated that he would support that
additional funding. Fahey sug~ested that the City's participation be
capped at this point until some harder numbers are available.
Scalze su~~ested that the Historical Society look within their or~anization
for funding opportunities, as well as do some external fund-raisin~.
Fahey su~~ested that staff seek funding for upgrading of the existing
restrooms. Fahey noted that there must be funding commitments in place
and other details worked out before the project can proceed. Design work
has to be done and a firm cost estimate made.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RE.SOI,UTIONNO. 97-ZO-259 -AUTHORIZING CITYSTAFF TO
PROCEED WITH THE FINALIZATION OF PLAN.S AND
ESTIMATES FOR THE FIISTORICAL SOCIETYADDITION WITK
THE COUNCIL DESIGNATINC $Z50,000 TOWARD TFIE PROJECT
SUI3JECT TO FINAI. Morelan felt, however,
that the issue boils down to what you want Little Canada to be.
