MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 22, 1997 <br />The City Administrator reported we have asked the ownership of the <br />townhomes have agreed to add parking if a problem becomes evident. <br />They would like further documentation of the problem before doin~ so. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to retain the parking bans. <br />KLEIN The City Administrator reviewed the situation with the filling which <br />PROPERTY occurred at the Klein property. The soil which was brought into the site <br />was tested by Braun En~ineering and doesn't appear to be contaminated. <br />The Administrator also pointed out that the filling was done without a <br />permit, however, that was not a concern at this point. <br />The Administrator pointed out the resolution in the Council's agenda <br />packets calling for a public hearin~ to assess the costs of removal of <br />hazardous house against the Klein property. Those costs are $5,300.00. <br />David K(ein, representing the property owner Dennis Klein, reported that <br />an attorney has been retained relative to this matter. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.SOI UTIONNO. 97-IO-261- DECI.ARING COST TO I3E <br />ASSE.SSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED <br />A,SS~.S,S'MENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOl. UTION NO. 97-10-262 - CAI,I,ING FOR A PUI3I.IC <br />HEARING TO CONSIDER THE AS.SESSMENT OF THE KLEIN <br />PROPERTYI,OCATED AT 2620 RICE STREET FOR THE COST OF <br />REMOVAL OF HAZARnOUS 73UII,DING IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$5,300.00 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Morelan asked about the filling. The City Administrator reported that the <br />Pilling was done consistent with what the City had proposed to do.
