The Administrator again stated that the correction should be made to the east. Another issue is who will pay for it. Potter pointed out that when the County turned Arcade Street over to the City, there were several issues that the County was to take care of or provide funding for. The City Administrator pointed out that the intersection was not involved in the turn-back pointing out that Keller Parkway is still a County road. The Administrator felt the intersection needed to be fixed. Chris Drake pointed out that there is a hydrant close to the corner on the west, therefore, the only logical way to made the chan~e is toward the east. Morelan asked if the correction will occur this year. The City Engineer felt there was a 60 to 70% chance ofthe work occurring this year. Fahey instructed the Engineer to get whatever a~reements are necessary to change the design of the intersection. If the replacement curbing cannot be installed until Spring, then the area should be temporarily graveled. Fahey felt the tonger the intersection exists in its present condition, the less likely it will be to chan~e it. Morelan questioned the urgency of votin~ on this matter this evening indicating that he would feel more comfortable with staff's recommendation. Mr. LaValle introduced the followin~ resolution and moved its adoption: RESOI. UTION NO. 97-IO-266 - DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO FACII,ITATE CORRECTIONS TO THE INTERSECTION OF KELI,ER PARKWAYAND ARCADE STREET STRAIGHTENING OUT THE EXISTING HUMP CUTTING IT 73ACK TO THE EAST The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reported that if there are problems implementing the change, the matter will be brought back to the City Council for review.
