Morelan also commended the Administrator for several projects <br />he accomplished during this past evaluation period. <br />Scalze ranked the Administrator at "E" in Long Range Planning as did <br />LaValle. <br />Pedersen and Fahey provided "M+" rankings with Fahey askin~ if the City <br />has a five-year overall strategic business plan. Fahey stated that he would <br />like to see goals set for each director. <br />In the area of Relationship with Public/Public Relations Scalze ranked the <br />Administrator at "E to E+" indicatin~ that she receives excellent feedback <br />from the public. Fahey provided an "E" ranking commenting that good <br />public, professional services is an expectation set and exemplified by the <br />Administrator. Fahey stressed the importance of training/coaching on the <br />importance of public relationships and interpersonal skills for front line <br />employees who have significant public contact. <br />Morelan provided an "E" rating indicating that the Administrator's <br />relationship with the public is exemplary and that he has been successful <br />in instillin~ this trait in his staff Morelan suggested more proactive <br />contact with the public throu~h the media, perhaps a monthly article in the <br />newspaper and/or feature on CTV highlighting significant City news. <br />LaValle ranked the Administrator at "E+" commenting that he excels in <br />this area and has attained the respect of the city's known critics. <br />Intergovernmental Relations were ranked at "E" by Scalze commending <br />the Administrator for the job he has done with the City's legislators. <br />LaValle provided an "E-" ranking suggesting that the Administrator <br />should be more active with area governments, noting, however, that time <br />may be a factor. <br />Morelan provided an "E+" rating commenting on the relationships the <br />Administrator has established with representatives of all levels of <br />government. Morelan suggested that time permitting a more proactive <br />approach to providing examples of good ideas from other jurisdictions <br />may be beneficial. Morelan also commended the Administrator for the <br />si~nificant progress made with the League and State Representatives on <br />various issues, as well as several successful grant applications. <br />Fahey ranked the Administrator at "E-" commentin~ on the lobbyin~ and <br />interaction with other governmental entities on key city initiatives. <br />Pedersen provided an "E" rankin~. <br />
