MINUTES CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 17, 1997 RESOI, UTION NO. 97-12-313 - APPOINTING ROGER CHRISTIANSENAND HOW,9RD REMEROWSKI TO THREE YEAR TERMS ON THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION AND APPOINTING GENE DELONAIS AND DENNIS CARSON TO THREE YEAR TERMS ON THE PI,ANNING COMMISSION EFFECTIVE JANUARY I, 1998 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. BOCCE BALL The Council reviewed the Parks & Recreation Commission's COURT recommendation that no action be taken at this time with regard to the bocce ball court request. LaValle pointed out the comments at the Commission meeting that there are only a limited number of people who are requesting maintenance and/or a new court in a City park. LaValle reminded the Council that the City received a petition on this issue, and that the petition was signed by quite a few interested people. LaValle felt there were recreation programs provided by the City which served a smaller number of participants than this one would. LaValle suggested that the matter be revisited in the Spring. Scalze agreed. Morelan suggested that it was a matter of priorities, and the more people interested, the hi~her the priority. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOI UTIONNO. 97-12-314-ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION TO TAKE NO ACTION AT THIS TIME ON THE I30CCE I3AI.L COURT IS.SDE, AND DECI.ARING THAT THE MATTER ]3E REVISITED IN THE SPRINC The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. MONTREAL The City Administrator reported that he has been discussing the COURTS sprinklering of Montreal Courts with Jim Echtenkamp of Goldmark 10
