MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 17, 1997 <br />RESOI, UTION NO. 97-12-313 - APPOINTING ROGER <br />CHRISTIANSENAND HOW,9RD REMEROWSKI TO THREE YEAR <br />TERMS ON THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION AND <br />APPOINTING GENE DELONAIS AND DENNIS CARSON TO <br />THREE YEAR TERMS ON THE PI,ANNING COMMISSION <br />EFFECTIVE JANUARY I, 1998 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />BOCCE BALL The Council reviewed the Parks & Recreation Commission's <br />COURT recommendation that no action be taken at this time with regard to the <br />bocce ball court request. <br />LaValle pointed out the comments at the Commission meeting that there <br />are only a limited number of people who are requesting maintenance <br />and/or a new court in a City park. LaValle reminded the Council that the <br />City received a petition on this issue, and that the petition was signed by <br />quite a few interested people. LaValle felt there were recreation programs <br />provided by the City which served a smaller number of participants than <br />this one would. LaValle suggested that the matter be revisited in the <br />Spring. Scalze agreed. <br />Morelan suggested that it was a matter of priorities, and the more people <br />interested, the hi~her the priority. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI UTIONNO. 97-12-314-ACCEPTING THE <br />RECOMMENDATION OF THE PARKS & RECREATION <br />COMMISSION TO TAKE NO ACTION AT THIS TIME ON THE <br />I30CCE I3AI.L COURT IS.SDE, AND DECI.ARING THAT THE <br />MATTER ]3E REVISITED IN THE SPRINC <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />MONTREAL The City Administrator reported that he has been discussing the <br />COURTS sprinklering of Montreal Courts with Jim Echtenkamp of Goldmark <br />10 <br />
