Resolution declared adopted.
The City Administrator presented the Council with a proposed agreement
between the City and the Little Canada Historical Society outlining details
for repayment of the cost of the addition. The Administrator reported that
the Historical Society has reviewed and approved of the agreement.
LaValle pointed out that the agreement calls for the Historical Society to
repay the City based on 75% of their net profits derived from charitable
gambling. LaValle indicated that a similar agreement with the Fire
Department required repayment based on 90% of net profits.
Fahey pointed out that the Historical Society will be moving into a new
facility and will have start-up expenses, which Che Fire Department did not
have. Fahey noted that the agreement with the Historical Society
encoura~;es prompt repayment.
The City Administrator reported that initial discussion were for 50% of net
profits to be used for repayment. However, that percenta~e was increased
to 75% to encoura~e quicker repayment. The Administrator felt that the
75% figure should generate a good repayment rate based on net revenues
of typical ~ambling sites.
