MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY 13, 1998 The City Administrator noted that discussion ofthis intersection occurred at the assessment hearing for the project. At that time, we indicated to our residents that the issue would be addressed. Pahey asl<ed who owns the street right-of-way in this area. The Administrator indiclted that the curb line in question lies in Maplewood ri~ht-of-way. "Che City Attorney pointed out that the right-of-way is not owned by the City of Maplewood, but is held in the public interest. The Attorney suggested that if Maplewood does not agree to modify the curve so that it meets design specifications, the City has the option to pursue a court order to do so. Fahey suggested that Little Canada must assume that the Maplewood City Council will respect the ori~inal lgreement between the two cities. If not, then Little Ca~i~da witl have to initiate wl~atever action is necessary to protect its citizens. The City Administrator recommended that the Mayor and Acting Mayor join him in discussing this matter witl~ the Maplewood City Council. ALCOEIOL The Council reviewed the proposal submitted by the North Suburban COMPLIANC~ Tobacco Compliance Project and the University of Minnesota CHECKS Epidemiology Program for alcohol compliance checks.
