MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 13, 1998 <br />The City Administrator noted that discussion ofthis intersection occurred <br />at the assessment hearing for the project. At that time, we indicated to our <br />residents that the issue would be addressed. <br />Pahey asl<ed who owns the street right-of-way in this area. The <br />Administrator indiclted that the curb line in question lies in Maplewood <br />ri~ht-of-way. "Che City Attorney pointed out that the right-of-way is not <br />owned by the City of Maplewood, but is held in the public interest. The <br />Attorney suggested that if Maplewood does not agree to modify the curve <br />so that it meets design specifications, the City has the option to pursue a <br />court order to do so. <br />Fahey suggested that Little Canada must assume that the Maplewood City <br />Council will respect the ori~inal lgreement between the two cities. Scalze suggested it may be helpful to get <br />so~ne f lm of schooi buses tiying Co navigate throu~h this intersection. <br />ALCOEIOL The Council reviewed the proposal submitted by the North Suburban <br />COMPLIANC~ Tobacco Compliance Project and the University of Minnesota <br />CHECKS Epidemiology Program for alcohol compliance checks.
