MINUT~S <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 27, 1998 <br />Morelan asked what type of time commitment would be required for <br />committee members. The Administrator thougl~t that the committee <br />would meet once per month for the next year beginning in August, 1998. <br />Council discussed involvement by City staff and the Council on the <br />committee. The Administrator indicated that City staffwould serve in a <br />support role to the committee. Scalze pointed out that since the committee <br />would be advisory to the Council, Council Members should not be on the <br />committee. It was suggested that it may be beneficial to have joint <br />meetings of the committee and the Council on a quarterly basis. <br />TRANSF~R Council reviewed the request of AMF Bowling Worldwide for transfer <br />OF LIQUOR of the on-s11e liquor license and Sunday liquor license, as well as tobacco <br />LICENSE - and other pe~7ii~ent licenses From Harvey Anderson, Saxon Lanes, to AMF <br />SAXON LAN~S Bowling Worldwide. AMF Bowling is purchasing the Saxon Lanes from <br />Mr. Anderson. In ~ddition to the transfer for the licenses which iun <br />tl~rou~h June 30, 1998, AMF Bowling is re~uestin~ approval of the <br />renewals for the license period July l, 1998 through June 30, 1999. Staff <br />reportecl that the application materials are complete. <br />LaValle aslced about the impact this transfer may have on the <br />redevelopment of this tirea. The CiYy Administrator re}~orted that he has <br />been iu cont~ct with AMF Bowling, ai~d they have indicated a willingness <br />to work with the City, and he has made them aware of the possible interest <br />iu a portion of the parl<in~ lot by a private developer. <br />Mis. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI. UTION N0. 98-5-128 - APPROVING TIIE TRANSFER OF <br />ON-SAI.B I.IQDOR, SUNDAYLIQUOR, T013ACC0, AND OTFIER <br />PERTINENT I,ICENSES FROMFIARVEYANDERSON, SAXON <br />I,ANES, TO AMF 130WI ING WURLDWIDE FOR TFIE LICENSE <br />PEIUOD MAY 2A, 1998 TFIROUGf7 JUNE 30, T 998, AND <br />APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF THESE SAME LICENSES FOR <br />THE I,ICENSE PERIOD JIJI Y 1, 1998 ,THROUGFI JUNE 30, I999 <br />SUI3JECT TO CLOSINC ON THE SALE OF THbS PROPERTY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Sc11ze, Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0).
