MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 25, 1998
The City Administrator reported that additional neighborhood meetings
will be held in December with the property owners on LaBore Road from
County Road D to Edgerton. Staff will have a recommendation for the
Council to consider at its December 17'~' meeting.
Scalze asked if these improvements should be delayed until they can all be
done in order to achieve an economy of scale. The Administrator
pointed out that currently interest rates are down and oil prices are stable,
therefore, it should be a good time to proceed with the recommended
projects.
Morelan pointed out that a portion of Viking Drive needs immediate
attention, and he was not sure it would be advisable to wait for two years
on these projects. The City Administrator also pointed out that there are
serious drainage problems on Minnesota Avenue which need attention.
The Administrator also noted that while the property owners on East
Brooks do not support the improvement, the road has deteriorated to the
point where it is a safety issue. Cost is the point of concern with the East
Brooks property owners.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption
RESOLUTIONNO. 98-11-278-AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO COMPLETE THE FEASII3ILITY REPORTS ON
THE FOLI.OWING IMPROVEMENTS:
*MINNE,40TA AVENUE;
*EAST 13ROOK.S;
*VIKING DRI t~E FROM EDGERTON TO MCMENEMY ROAD;
*I.AI30RF ROAD AND MCMENEMY ROAD (AT THE DISCRETION
OF THE CITY ENGINEER AND CITYADMINISTRATOR
FOLI.OWING THE DECEM73ER NEIGH730RHOOD MEETING).
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Pedersen, Scalze, Morelan, LaValle.
Nays (0).
