MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 17, 1998 <br />curb and gutter helps to protect the investment made in City streets, and <br />from that standpoint it makes sense to do it. <br />Kath pointed out that the property owners along McMenemy Road prefer <br />the open look to the road. <br />The City Administrator pointed out that the County will pick up the cost <br />of the road recycling project and the City is proposing to install the <br />concrete curb and ~utter. As a result, the project will be a very <br />economical one for the City and property owners that with the addition of <br />the curb and gutter will result in a long-life street. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 98-12-294 - ACCEPTING THE FEASIBILITY <br />REPORT AND CAI.I.INC A PU737.IC HEARINC TO CONSIDER THE <br />IMPROVEMENT OF LA130RE ROAD FROM COUNTY ROAD D TO <br />EDGERTON STREET AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF MCMENEMY <br />STREET FROM I.ITTLE CANADA ROAD TO VIKING DRIVE 73Y <br />CONCRETE CUR73 AND CUTTER, SHOULI)ER WIDENING, AND <br />DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS FOR TUESDAY, .IANUARY 19,1999 <br />AT 8: 00 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that a report from the Watershed and the <br />County is pending relative to the improvement of County Road B-2 from <br />Edgerton Street to Arcade Street. Once that report is received, it will be <br />necessary to call for an improvement hearing for this project as well. <br />PAVING OF The City Administrator recommended that the paving of the final lift for <br />ARCADE Arcade Street from County Road D to Keller Parkway be deleted from the <br />STREET Ryan Construction contract. The final lift will be included with the 1999 <br />improvement projects. The Administrator also recommended that final <br />payment be made to Ryan Construction for the Arcade Street project <br />subject to completion of punch list items, approval of MN DOT of the <br />changes to the project, and submission of a formal release by Ryan <br />Construction releasing the City from any and all potential claims. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />14 <br />
