MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 17, 1998
Kimmes indicated in response to the comments of the City Engineer in his
report dated December 1 l, 1998, that details of final elevations and
drainage would be worked out prior to submission of the Final plat to the
City for approval.
Scalze noted that there are issues of gradin~ and drainage of the Gilanderi
plat as it abuts the property to the west as well as issues on the east portion
of the plat. Scalze stated that she did not feel comfortable actin~ on the
preliminary plat until these issues are worked out with the adjoining
property owners.
Kimmes replied that he has not had an opportunity to discuss drainage
issues with Brian Ducharme, who owns the property to the west.
However, in developing the drainage plan for the Gilanderi Plat, Kimmes
felt that the approach taken was based upon common sense. Kimmes
stated that if Mr. Ducharme is reluctant to agree to the draina~e as
proposed, a retaining wall can be built which will contain run-off on the
Gilanderi property.
The City Engineer agreed that the retaining wall was an option to keeping
~;rading on the Kimmes property. However, the Engineer felt it would be
better to have the grading extend onto the property to the west rather than
keep the existing depression.
Fahey noted that the Council wouid require that these grading issues be
resolved before action is taken on the final plat.
Scalze asked if there would be any filling done prior to final plat approval.
Kimmes replied that he knows he has to resolve several issues before the
Council will act on the final plat. Kimmes indicated that this evening he is
looking for approval of the four-lot concept.
Scalze noted that the City Engineer and City Planner have recommended
extension of the 24-foot wide road to serve the four-lot development.
Scalze commented that a three-lot development would not require
widening of the road.
Kimmes agreed to the extension of the 24-foot road width, and noted that
the road is shown entirely on his property. There would be some existing
blacktop removed from the property to the east.
Fahey asked if there was anyone from the general pubiic present wishing
to comment on this matter.
2
