MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 24, 1999 The Code Enforcement Officer repoited that during the 1997 Legislative session a feasibility study was done relative to (ight rail transit and the railroad freight lines were looked at as possible routes. One of the routes which was identified goes through Little Canada. As part of this route there is a proposal for two stations in Little Canada and another in Vadnais Heights close to the Little Canada border. Scalze pointed out the impact that these stations could have on the City given that large parkin~ lots may accompany each station. The Code Enforcement Officer indicated that one station is being considered at Highway 36 and the railroad tracks near St. Jude Medical, and the other at 694 and the railroad tracks near Levitz. The Vadnais Heights station would be located at 35E and the railroad tracks. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOI. Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. SCHNITZER Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CLAIM - CLOSED RESOI,UTION NO. 99-2-43 - CALLINCi FOR A CLOSED SES.SION SESSION FOLLOWING THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING TO DISCUSS THE SCHNITZER CLAIM The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. RESCHEDULE Mayor Fahey asked the Council to consider rescheduling the April 28th APRIL 28, 1999 re~ular Council meeting given he must be out-of-town on that day.
