MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1999 <br />The Code Enforcement Officer repoited that during the 1997 Legislative <br />session a feasibility study was done relative to (ight rail transit and the <br />railroad freight lines were looked at as possible routes. One of the routes <br />which was identified goes through Little Canada. As part of this route <br />there is a proposal for two stations in Little Canada and another in Vadnais <br />Heights close to the Little Canada border. <br />Scalze pointed out the impact that these stations could have on the City <br />given that large parkin~ lots may accompany each station. <br />The Code Enforcement Officer indicated that one station is being <br />considered at Highway 36 and the railroad tracks near St. Jude Medical, <br />and the other at 694 and the railroad tracks near Levitz. The Vadnais <br />Heights station would be located at 35E and the railroad tracks. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI. Resolution declared adopted. <br />SCHNITZER Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CLAIM - <br />CLOSED RESOI,UTION NO. 99-2-43 - CALLINCi FOR A CLOSED SES.SION <br />SESSION FOLLOWING THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING TO DISCUSS <br />THE SCHNITZER CLAIM <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0).
